Women's Cross Country's Season Begins Saturday

The George Mason women's cross country team's 2007 season gets underway at the Towson Invitational tomorrow at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Md.

Head Coach Angie Taylor will begin her ninth season at Mason with five returnees and four newcomers on the cross country team. Returning for the Patriots are seniors Alicia York, Melissa Ferry and Danielle Turner, junior Jonecia Gates and sophomore Candace Carter.

The 2007 schedule includes traveling to the James Madison Invitational on Saturday, September 15, before hosting the Mason Invitational on September 28 at Bull Run Park in Manassas, Va. In October the team has two meets, the Delaware Invitational on October 13 and the CAA Championships in Farmingdale, NY on October 26th. On November 3, the Patriots travel to Panorama Farms for the Cavalier Open one week prior to the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Louisville, Ky.
