Hines Leads Patriots to Seventh Place at CAA Championships

Nov. 1, 2003

HUNT VALLEY, MD ... The George Mason women's cross country team placed seventh Saturday at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships at Oregon Ridge Park. The event was hosted by Towson University.

William & Mary won both team titles, with the women scoring 18 points and the men scoring 20 points. The Patriot women scored 186 points as they finished seventh.

Junior Sara Hines was the top finisher for the George Mason women as she placed 25th with a time of 23 minutes, 10 seconds over the 6,000-meter course. She was followed on the Patriots by senior Dana Early, who was 34th in 23:54; junior Nicole Holifield, 36th in 24:04; junior Ryann Holmes, 62nd in 25:13; and senior Rose Moeser, 66th in 25:22. For scoring purposes (the top seven finishers for each team score points, but only the top five count in the team score), Hines was 20th, Early 29th, Holifield 31st, Holmes 52nd and Moeser 54th.
