
Cross Country Teams Finish 11th and 12th at GW Invitational

George Mason men's and women's cross country teams competed in the ninth annual GW Invitational on Saturday at Bull Run Park. The men finished 11th and the women 12th in the twelve team field. Top runner for the Patriots, John Crain finished 44th out of 141 finishers on the 8,000 meter course with a time of 27:25.37. Ryan Davis was on his heels as he finished 50th six seconds behind Crain at 27:31.03. Melissa Ferry was the top finisher for the Patriot women, also finishing in 44th in a time of 25:03.96 on the newly designed 6,000 meter course. Stephanie Gunter was the next Mason runner to cross the line, finishing in 26:23.50 in a race that featured 117 runners. Bucknell swept the Invitational as its men's and women's teams each scored 31 points to secure victories in the women's 6K and men's 8K races, respectively. The GW women were the defending champions.
