Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at JMU Invitational

NEW MARKET, Va.- Duke University runners finished one-two to lead the Blue Devils to the team title in the James Madison University Women's Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning at the New Market Battlefield. The Patriots finished fourth out of five teams.

George Mason was led by Ally Romanow who was 29th, finishing in 21:47. Alicia York finished 42nd and Joanna Bailey 49th finishing in 22:16 and 22:41 respectively. Candace Carter and Danielle Turner rounded out the scoring for the Patriots.

Duke University's Emily McCabe easily won the race with a time of 18:20 on the 5,100-meter course. She was 37 seconds ahead of her teammate Madeline McKeever who was second in 18:57.

Duke finished with 32 points in the team competition followed by Georgetown (42), JMU (53), George Mason (132), and Longwood (134).

The Patriots will compete again when they host the Mason Invitational on September 30.
