Women's Volleyball Dominates UNC Wilmington With Three-Game Sweep

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Powered by a blistering attack and staunch defense, the George Mason women's volleyball team notched its third straight victory Friday evening with a 3-0 sweep of UNC Wilmington. Game scores were 30-17, 30-18, and 30-15.

Mason (13-8, 6-3 CAA) held a .409 to -.038 hitting advantage to secure the victory, trailing just twice in the entire contest to the Seahawks (8-19, 1-9).

The Patriot attack was again led by sophomore Rebecca Walter, who contributed a game-high 16 kills. Joining her in double figures was classmate Laura Turner, who chipped in 10 kills along with five total blocks. Senior Kristen Byler led all players with 11 digs on the evening. UNCW's offense was led by Lindsey Strucko's eight kills.

Mason will look to run its winning streak to four on Sunday when it faces the Georgia State Panthers at 2 p.m.
