Jesica Umansky was one of the most decorated players in George Mason women's volleyball history and this year, she is in her second season as a student-assistant coach for the Patriots. Umansky was a four-time All-CAA player, being named first team as a senior and a sophomore and was second team as a freshman and junior. She was CAA Setter of the Year in 2002 and co-Setter of the Year in 2004. She was first team All-Virginia as a senior and second team her first three seasons. She was AVCA All-East as a freshman and named the East's Freshman of the Year. She received honorable mention to the AVCA All-East team as a senior. Umansky finished her Mason career second all-time in assists with 4,606. She had a school-record 10 aces in a match against East Carolina in 2002 and she once recorded 24 digs in a match, against Virginia Commonwealth in 2002. Her 73 assists against Hofstra in 2003 is fifth-most in a match in school history. Umansky is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina and she is a systems engineering major. |
