The George Mason men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational this weekend in Charlottesville, Va., and came away with a number of NCAA regional and IC4A/ECAC qualifying times. Additionally, the Patriot men took part in the Sea Ray Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee.

In Charlottesville, three Patriots met NCAA regional qualifying standards. The women's 4x100-meter relay `A' team finished third with a time of 46.68. Junior Ryann Hendricks improved on her season distance in the long jump as she met a ECAC qualifier with a 5.94-meter jump. Hendricks would do the same in the triple jump, as she registered a second-place finish of 12.30 meters.

In other action at the meet, hosted by the University of Virginia, junior Murielle Ahoure completed the 400-meter dash in 54.77, good for first place and an ECAC qualifier. Also meeting ECAC qualifiers was freshman Chia Hudson in the long jump (5.87m).

At the Sea Ray Relays in Nashville, the men's 4x800-meter `A' relay team of sophomore Sam Horn, freshman Erin McWhorter, and sophomores Michael Pachella and Matt Bailey finished in 7:39.56, a season-best time which qualifies them for the IC4A Championships.

Both the men's and women's squads will travel to Williamsburg next weekend for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, hosted by the College of William and Mary on Friday and Saturday.
