Tiombe Hurd begins her first season as a volunteer assistant track and field coach with the George Mason women's team. She brings with her tremendous experience as an athlete on the international stage.

Hurd was a 2004 Olympian for the United States, winning the triple jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials. She is a three-time U.S. Indoor Champion (2000, '01, '04) and she was the 2001 U.S. Outdoor Champion. Hurd is currently the American record holder in the triple jump with a leap of 14.45 meters. She set that record while winning the Olympic Trials.

Hurd is no stranger to the CAA scene. She competed at James Madison where she was a five-time All-American. She graduated from JMU in 1994with a degree in hotel/restaurant management. In 1996, she earned her MBA from Howard University.

Hurd was born in Seattle but her family moved to Virginia when she was in high school. She graduated from West Potomac High School in 1991. She currently resides in Upper Malboro, Md.
