Ricky Ervins begins his first season at George Mason in 2007-08 as a volunteer assistant coach with the women's track and field team. Ervins was a standout at the University of Southern California in both football and track and field, and played five seasons in the NFL, four with the Washington Redskins. Ervins was drafted by the Redskins in 1991 and led all NFC rookies in rushing that year with 680 yards. He capped off his rookie year by helping lead the Redskins to a win in Super Bowl XXVI with a game-high 72 rushing yards on 13 carries. Ervins is a native of Pasadena, Calif. and a 1987 graduate of John Muir High School. He graduated from USC in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration. Ervins has a wife, Shawnese, and two children, Jazmyn and Iman. He has his own business in the Northern Virginia area, Xtreme Xplosion, which helps condition athletes in all sports to reach their peak potential. |
