Lady Netters Fall to Towson

April 10, 2007

Fairfax, Va. - Conference opponent Towson defeated the Lady Netters on Tuesday. The Lady Netters fell by a score of 1-6 at the Robinson Field Tennis Courts with their overall record dropping to 4-14.

Mason struggled in doubles play, as Towson took all three matches in commanding fashion. Singles play did not prove to be much of a rebound for the Lady Netters, except for Maricel Ballester. Ballester took down Towson's Otanka in three sets, 6-0, 5-7, 6-2. The win was Ballester's sixth in the last eight matches at the No. 1 position. Towson though did sweep positions No. 2 through No. 6.

The Patriots will host Morgan State on Thursday afternoon at the Robinson Field Tennis Courts.

1) Maricel Ballester & Meredith Cutchin  lost 4-8 to Otanka/Parsons
2) Julie Moscato & Alicia Van Zandt lost 3-8 to Woolfolk/Scatuorchio
3) Alex LaCoste/Jen Kramer lost 1-8 to Ng/Izaguirre
