
UNC Wilmington Ends Mason's Four-Match Win Streak

WILMINGTON, N.C. - George Mason's four-match winning streak ended as the team was blanked 7-0 by the UNC Wilmington women's tennis team today in North Carolina. The Patriots drop to 10-8 with the loss and 1-3 in the CAA. The Lady Seahawks easily won the doubles point and dropped just one set in singles to improve to 19-3 overall and 5-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The toughest match of the day pitted the two No. 1 singles players. Mason's Andreea Fusea lost to Lindsey Hess in a battle of two senior standouts. Hess captured the first set, 6-1, but Fusea rallied to win the second set, 6-3. Hess then completed the sweep for the Lady Seahawks by edging Fusea, 10-8, in the tiebreaker.
