Women's Tennis Falls to American, 4-3

March 30, 2006

Washington, D.C.--George Mason University's women's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision to American University Thursday evening on the Eagles home court. With this loss, Mason now stands at 6-7 on the year.

The Patriots won all three double matches and went ahead, 3-2, but lost two third set tiebreakers to decide the match.

"I was disappointed in our performance as a team," said head coach Stephen Curtis. "We had some strong individuals, but we are not strong as a team yet. We still have a lot to learn."

The Patriots will return to action when they host Howard on Mar. 31 at 3 p.m.
