Mason falls to DIII powerhouse Mary Washington

Fredericksburg Va. - George Mason's women's tennis team continued its struggles on Sunday falling to 2-5, as they were defeated by Division III powerhouse, Mary Washington. The Eagles, ranked 17th in Division III were victorious by a score of 7-0.

Maricel Ballester was the strongest competitor in singles play for Mason as she lost in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, to Stephanie Kurti at the No. 1 position. Alexandria LaCoste and Julia Moscato played tough matches at the No. 2 and 3 positions respectively. All three doubles matches ended in the same score, 8-2, in favor of Mary Washington.

The women's tennis team will continue to battle through the most difficult part of their schedule as they travel to George Washington next weekend.
