Anderson Tacks on Another Conference Honor

May 8, 2007

Fairfax, Va.-Freshman Becky Anderson (Oakton, Va.) was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office for her efforts in the circle against Drexel. This is the second-straight league honor for the Virginia native as she was recognized as the CAA Rookie of the Week on April 30.

Anderson helped the Patriots win their second CAA series of the season with a pair of 1-0 victories over Drexel this past weekend. The freshman recorded a 2-0 record in the circle for the Patriots and earned a perfect 0.00 ERA after 15.1 innings of work. Anderson struck out nine batters and gave up 10 hits with only one extra base tally. The rookie batted .333 (3-for-9) in the three-game series and added the game-winning RBI in the series opener over the Dragons.

Anderson shares this honor with Hofstra sophomore Kayleigh Lotti.

The Patriots closed out the 2007 campaign with a 19-34 overall record and a 5-16 mark in conference play.
