Richmond, Va.--George Mason University freshman pitcher Arielle Weinkofsky (Oakhurst, N.J.) earned Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week honors for her efforts at Towson on April 9 as announced by the conference office.

Weinkofsky lifted the Patriots to a 1-0 win over league-leading Towson as she pitched a perfect game for six innings and singled home the game-winning run in the top of the fifth inning in the second game of the double-header. She allowed just one hit in the seventh before being relieved by teammate freshman Amber Straube (Virginia Beach, Va.) who helped preserve the victory. The New Jersey native improved to 3-6 on the year.

This is the second time this season in which a Mason player has received a conference honor as sophomore pitcher Megan Farrell (Medford, N.J.) was named pitcher of the week on

The Patriots will return to action on April 12 when they face La Salle for a non-conference double-header in Philadelphia, Pa. at 3 p.m.
