The George Mason women's soccer team will spend spring break in a very warm climate as the Patriots will fly to Brazil to play five matches against foreign competition. The Patriots will spend nine days on the road and will play in three different cities during their break from school.

The trip will begin in Sao Paulo where the Patriots will play Esporte Clube Piheiros on Sunday, March 9. On March 10, the Patriots will conduct a clinch for kids ages 7-12. That afternoon, the Patriots will take on University of McKenzie in a 4 p.m. match. On March 11, after some sightseeing, the Patriots will play Paulista-Jundiai, a regional Sao Paulo team.

On March 12, the team will travel 60 to Santos, the home of Pele. The following day, Mason will take on Santos FC and that night, they will watch Santos FC compete against Mirassol. On March 14, the team will travel to Sao Sebastiao and after a day of relaxing on the beach, the Patriots will take on Sao Sebastiao Selection. The Patriots will return on Sunday, March 16.

As a tune-up for its trip, the women's soccer team played a pair of games last week, coming away with a pair of wins. The Patriots beat East Carolina 1-0 as Kelly Keelan scored on a header from Jessica Paris. In the second game, Mason beat Longwood, 1-0. This time the goal came from Paris on a direct corner kick. The Patriots got strong defensive play from Amy Arroyo in net as well as Theresa DeLucca, Hannah Sklar and Leslie Cabe.
