Nick Carlin-Voigt enters his third season at Mason as an assistant coach working for both the men's and women's soccer teams as a goalkeeper coach. Carlin-Voigt has been in the collegiate coaching ranks for just five years but already has an impressive resume. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Kalamazoo College, a Division III school in Michigan. He worked there as an assistant coach with the men's team for one season before moving on as a goalkeeper coach for the men's team at the Western Michigan University. From there, he took a job at the University of Wisconsin as an assistant on the women's team, where he had been since 2005. The Badgers won the 2005 Big Ten Title and were a top 25 team. A decorated player in college, Carlin-Voigt graduated from Kalamazoo in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in economics. A perennial Dean's List student, Carlin-Voigt also shined on the field, being named an NSCAA All-American as a senior. A two-time team captain, he was a four-year starter and he holds the Kalamazoo and the MIAA records for fewest goals allowed in a season. Carlin-Voigt has played semi-pro soccer in the U.S. and Mexico. In 2004, he studied and played at the IMG Soccer Academy under goalkeeper coach Scott Morgenroth and in 2006, he studied and trained with Osnabruck of the German Bundesliga Nord (III). He currently runs the Nick Carlin-Voigt GK Soccer Training Academy and he volunteers for Grass Root Soccer and Sports Challenge. He holds a USSF "B" License and a NSCAA Goalkeeping Coaching Diploma.
