The George Mason women's lacrosse team will travel to England, Ireland and Scotland for nine days in June of 2008, touring the countries together and competing against some of the world's best teams.

The trip will be an incredible bonding experience for the Patriots and will help the team learn new cultures and styles of play together. In order to help the team embark on this unique opportunity to travel and compete against some of the world's top competition in Europe, the Patriots are accepting tax-deductible donations of $100 or more to help fund the trip.

Those wishing to make a donation can visit www.give.gmu.edu to make a gift online. Click on "Make a Gift" and enter women's lacrosse into the "Other Established Fund" field. It is also possible to make a gift by filling out the pdf form that can be downloaded from this page and sending it back to George Mason University, Patriot Club, 4400 University Dr., MS 3A5, Fairfax, VA 22030.

The George Mason women's lacrosse team has traveled to both Japan and Europe in the past. The following testimonials are from former players whose lives were impacted by the trips:

"Traveling overseas with Mason was a once in a lifetime experience. I will always remember, and be grateful for, the unique opportunity to visit different countries and observe various cultures sight seeing, while simultaneously competing on an international level. Traveling overseas allowed us to expand our knowledge and understanding of the game, as well as our understanding of one another. We left our trip with lifelong memories and returned to the states a closer-knit group."

- Katie Linnertz (Class of 2007)
Foreign Tour to London, England and Prague, Czech Republic

"Our team trip to Japan was absolutely incredible and truly one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did I get to see fascinating and beautiful Japan but I was able to experience their culture first hand. This is something that you are truly unable to do on a "vacation." Sharing this experience with my fellow teammates made the adventure that more memorable! On this journey I also acquired lifelong e-mail/Holiday card friends! It is so neat to have a connection across the world."

- Kelly Lephart (Class of 2000)
Foreign Tour to Nagoya and Fukoka, Japan

"Going to Japan was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. I am not sure if I would have ever visited Japan, but looking back I am thankful to have had the opportunity to experience a completely different culture. Our Japan trip was a great bonding experience for our team. Even though I had just graduated when we traveled, I felt like I got to know a lot of my teammates on a different level while we were away. Even though our international trip was seven years ago, I will always hold close the memories of our trip to Japan (and thank God that I do not have to eat fish for breakfast in the morning!).
