Jamison Earns Second Consecutive CAA Rookie of the Week Honor

March 4, 2008

RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman attacker Madalyn Jamison (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) tallied three goals in two games this past week on her way to earning CAA Rookie of the Week honors. It is the second straight week Jamison has won the award.

On Wednesday, Mason made the short trip to Washington, D.C. to take on No. 9 Georgetown. Despite losing 14-7, Jamison was a bright spot for the Patriots, scoring two goals on three shots and tallying two draw controls. In the Patriots' 11-5 win over in-state rival Virginia Tech, Jamison scored a goal and had three ground balls and a caused turnover. Jamison finished with a .500 shooting percentage for the week.

In her first three games as a Patriot, Jamison has five goals on eight shots, including the game-winning goal in Mason's upset victory over then-No. 9 Johns Hopkins to open the season. She also has three ground balls, three draw controls and a caused turnover.

George Mason, ranked 17th in the last IWLCA poll, awaits the results of the latest poll. The Patriots play again on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against George Washington at George Mason Stadium.
