For the first time in league history, the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Basketball Championship will be held in Fairfax, Va., with the 10,000-seat Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University playing host to the exciting four-day event.
Perennial power Old Dominion is looking to extend its incredible streak of 13 consecutive conference crowns, but nine other teams have their sights set on a CAA title and an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Along with the action on the court, fans can take advantage of the historic landmarks of our nation's capital, located just 30 minutes away.
Championship action will tip-off on Wed., March 9 and continue through Sat., March 12 with the crowning of the 2005 CAA Champion. Fans can follow the action for all nine games on GoMason.com through Gametracker, and the championship game will be televised and available in a record 30 million households. Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, CSN-Philadelphia, Madison Square Garden Network, Fox SportsNet South and KTVS-TV in Albuquerque, N.M., will all carry the game live while CSN-Chicago will air the game on a tape delay basis.
Ticket books are $25 for all nine games with single-session tickets priced at $13 for adults, $9 for youths and seniors, as well as $5 general admission seating for CAA students with a valid school I.D. Tickets go on sale Jan. 3 and can be purchased by calling TicketMaster at (703) 573-SEAT.
