Temoer Terry begins his sixth year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Patriot staff, and he brings a wealth of experience to Fairfax. Terry enters his eighth year as a college assistant after spending two seasons (1998-2000) at American University. He also coached the Bullis Prep School team for two seasons. The 31-year old Terry was a three-time All-American while wrestling at the University of Nebraska. He had a 35-3 overall record and placed fourth at the NCAA Championships at 150 pounds as a sophomore in 1995, was 25-3 and placed third as a junior at 158 in 1996, and he was 19-2 and finished sixth at 158 as a senior in 1998 (he sat out the 1996-97 season as a medical redshirt). Terry posted a career record of 100-24 with the Cornhuskers and was a two-time Big Eight champion (1995, 1996). A native of McPherson, Kan., Terry posted a career record of 79-3 at McPherson High School (graduating in 1993) and won three Kansas state championships. He won the U.S. title at the 1992 World Team Greco-Roman Trials and finished fourth at the world championships, and he was also fourth at the U.S. Greco-Roman Junior National Championships. In 1991, he claimed titles at the Cadet National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Championships. Terry earned a B.A. degree in business administration from Nebraska in 1998, and he began the pursuit of a master's degree in marketing while coaching at American. He currently is employed by Meltzer Group Benefits in Rockville, Md. |
