Paul Koncir enters his second season as an assistant coach for the George Mason men's volleyball team. Koncir, who returned to his alma mater after three seasons as the assistant coach of the women's volleyball program at Georgetown University, is also an assistant coach for the George Mason women's volleyball program.

While at Georgetown, Koncir helped the Hoyas to the Big East Championship match in 2001. He also helped produce four All-Big East players as well as a Big East Rookie of the Year. Koncir also was the head coach of the Georgetown Men's Club Volleyball team in 2002. That team won its first-ever Big East Championship and had its highest-ever finish at Division III Club Nationals (5th).

Prior to coaching at Georgetown, Koncir was an assistant coach for the Mason men's volleyball and women's volleyball teams in 1999. In 2005, he helped coach both the boys and girls USA Youth Development Camp which was held at Mason.

Koncir played for the Patriots from 1995-98. He started every match his senior season at outside hitter and was second on the team in kills. He has had a full playing career since graduating from Mason. In 1998 and 1999, Koncir was a member of the USAV Chesapeake Region championship team. In 1998 and 2002, he played for the Bahama International Tournament champions. In 2003, he was the Scottish Open Tournament MVP and in 2000 and 2004, his team won the Scottish Open.

Koncir graduated from George Mason University in 1999 with a degree in Studio Arts. He currently resides in Fairfax, Va.
