Rebecca Hartley begins her fifth season as an assistant coach for the George Mason men's track and field team, bringing with her solid credentials as a distance runner, triathlete and USATF Level II certified throws coach. Hartley has been the head coach of the McLean Youth Track and Cross Country Club since 2002 and was an assistant coach for that club for two years. She has coached numerous youth athletes who have qualified for national competitions in throws and running events. She has been a coach at Angie Taylor's Track and Field Camp every summer since 2003. Hartley is a 1985 graduate of Dartmouth College, where she received a bachelor's degree in government. She later earned a master's from the University of Virginia in foreign affairs. She matriculated to law school at Virginia where she was editor-in-chief of the journal of law and politics. She received her law degree in 1994. Hartley is currently a senior counsel at Thelen, Reid & Priest, specializing in international regulatory compliance counseling and investigations. Hartley resides in Vienna, Va. |
