
Men's Tennis Drops First Round Match to Delaware at CAA Championship

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 19, 2007) - Seventh-seeded Delaware blanked tenth-seeded George Mason 4-0 in the opening round of the CAA Men's Tennis Championship Thursday afternoon at Huntington Park Tennis Center. Delaware captured the doubles point as Austin Longacre and Andrew Blumberg defeated the Patriots' Jay Friedman and Jordan Lipstock, 8-6 at number one doubles and the Hens' Sam Barrer and Camilo Perez beat Mason's Matt Schneider and Matt Vaughn, 8-3 at number three. In singles action, Delaware's Longacre topped Daniel Schneider 6-1, 6-2 at number two, Matt Liebman knocked off Lipstock, 6-1, 6-1 at number three and Jon Schwartz downed Vaughn, 6-0, 6-2 at number five. 2007 CAA MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP - First Round Huntington Park Tennis Center - Newport News, Va. #7 Delaware 4, #10 George Mason 0
