Loretto, Pa - Men's Tennis kicked off their spring season with a decisive 6-1 win at Saint Francis (Pa) on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots begin the season 1-0.

All but one Saint Francis player left without a win and no matches went to a third set. Brian Fitzgerald played in the top singles spot for Mason for the first time, which didn't seem to worry him at all as he went on to defeat Saint Francis' Andrei Sandu 6-1, 7-5. Sophomore Stas Budagov played in the second singles position winning in stunning fashion 6-0, 6-0 versus David Kirby. Freshman Harwood Hoskins was also on debut for Mason as he won 6-3, 6-4 over Jeffery Seevers.

In Doubles Action Mason won all three matches to garner the point. Top doubles team of Brian Fitzgerald and Dan Schneider won in convincing fashion 8-2 as did Stas Budagov and Harwood Hoskins. The closest doubles match was 8-4 as Jordan Lipstock and Matt Vaughn defeated Saint Francis' No.1 and No.2 players.

Mason travels to Williamsburg, Va. to take on CAA opponent William & Mary at 2:00pm on Feb. 9th.
