Swimming and Diving Host Colonials On Senior Day

Feb. 1, 2008

The George Mason swimming and diving team will close out the 2007-08 regular season at home on Saturday afternoon when they host George Washington, in the Patriots' final tuneup before the CAA Championship. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m at Jim McKay Natatorium.

During the first diving break, Mason will recognize six senior student-athletes who will be competing for the final time in the regular season. The six seniors are Sarah Bizer, Amanda Fielding, Matt Kane, Erica Locher, Mallory Pucci, and Brittany Surkovich.

In their last time in action, the George Mason women's swimming and diving team completed a trifecta on Saturday with meet victories over American, Army, and Old Dominion, while the men picked up a win over American, in a quad meet held at the Jim McKay Natatorium.

Mason's women notched the three victories by defeating American 211-82, edging Colonial Athletic Association foe Old Dominion by a 161-139 margin and recording a resounding 221-79 win against Army. The men's squad defeated AU by a 200-91 score, while falling 204-95 to ODU and 215-85 to the Black Knights.

Following Saturday's event, the Patriots will be idle until hosting the conference championships, set to begin on February 27 and lasting through March 1.
