Seahawks of UNC Wilmington Defeat Mason

WILMINGTON, NC...The George Mason swimming and diving teams lost to UNC Wilmington Friday, with the Patriot men on the short end of a 151-138 score, while the women were defeated 172-128. It was the first loss of the season for both squads, as the women are now 3-1 on the year, with the men carrying a 2-1 mark.

Lauren Stinnett set a pool record en route to winning the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.17) and she also won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:24.24) and 100-yard butterfly (58.67).

Christy Anderson was also a multi-event winner for the Patriot women, winning the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.31) and the 400-yard IM (4:36.29).

Additional winners for the women's team were Stephanie Williams, who won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.66), and Stefani Lubore, who won the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.09).

In diving, Jamie Downing won the 1-meter (252.90), while Mary Campioli captured the 3-meter (276.75).

Multi-event winners for the men where Cameron Charlton, who won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.00) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.66), and Wes Ebanks, who won the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.74) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.67).

Tim Norton won the 400-yard IM (4:06.36) and John Appleman won the 1-meter dive (277.10).

Mason returns to action with its Patriot Invitational, which will run Nov. 22-25 in the Aquatic & Fitness Center.
