RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason senior goalkeeper Sean Kelley was named the CAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Kelley earned two shutouts this past week as Mason improved its record to 7-2-0 overall to move into the Soccer America National Rankings at No. 23.

Kelley had an outstanding week in goal, recording a pair of shutouts, including a win over the second-ranked, defending national champion Maryland Terrapins in front of 2,781 fans on Tuesday evening at George Mason Stadium. Against Maryland, Kelley made six saves, including several key stops in the second half to protect a 2-0 Patriot lead. Kelley followed up Tuesday's performance with four saves in a 1-0 win over William and Mary in a CAA contest on Saturday evening to lead the Patriots to a 2-0 start in conference matches.

Kelley has held opponents scoreless for 435:39 and five consecutive matches, all Patriot wins. George Mason has outscored opponents 10-0 during the winning streak. The streak and win over the Terps catapulted Mason into the Soccer America poll once again. The Patriots were ranked No. 19 to start the season.
