Men's Soccer to Host Loyola (Md.) in Final Exhibition Game

Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's men's soccer team will wrap-up its presason schedule on Saturday, Aug. 19 as the Patriots host Loyola (Md.) at George Mason Stadium at 7 p.m.

The Patriots claimed a 3-0 win over Navy in Fairfax on Aug. 13. Freshman forward Irvin Martinez (Woodbridge, Va.) netted Mason's first goal of the night in the 28th minute and sophomore forward Dan Ames (Livonia, N.Y.) added to the Patriots lead as he put one in the net at the 36:44 mark. Senior defender Jacob Weitz (Lovettsville, Va.) scored the final goal of the night off of a penalty kick right outside the box in the opening minutes of the second half.

Mason then traveled to Baltimore to face UMBC on Aug. 16, which ended in a 2-2 tie.

The 2006 regular season will begin on Aug. 25 when the Patriots host Monmouth at George Mason Stadium (7 p.m.).
