Kristopher Kelderman will enter his second year as an assistant coach for Mason's men's soccer program this season.

Kelderman came to Mason with 15 years of coaching and nine years of professional playing experience. Most recently Kelderman played with the New England Revolution (1999) of the MLS and, before playing with the Miami Fusion during the 1998 season, Kelderman was a member of the D.C. United when the United won two-straight MLS Champion titles (1996-97). Other professional teams for which Kelderman played were: Milwaukee Rampage (1993-95, 2000), Milwaukee Wave (2000-01), St. Louis Ambush (1996), Tampa Bay Terror (1995-96), Buffalo Blizzard (1993-95) and the Baltimore Blast (1991-92).

Kelderman currently serves as the Technical Director for the Vienna Youth Soccer Club. Some of his main responsibilities at VYS is to conduct age-appropriate coaching and skills clinics, as well as individual team-specific training sessions. In addition, Kelderman has been the head youth soccer coach and trainer with the D.C. United Super Y-League U-17 Youth Team since 2004.

During the 2000 season, Kelderman was the head coach of the Wisconsin Rebels of the Premier Developmental League. While with the Rebels he developed and implemented training sessions for daily workouts, as well as recruitment of top collegiate athletes. Kelderman also coached at both Dover High School in Dover, Mass. (1999) and Neenah High School in Wisconsin (1995).

In 1985, Kelderman was a member of the U17 United States National team that participated in the U17 Youth World Cup in China.

Kelderman was a member of the University of Virginia's soccer team from 1987-91 and was a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection during his four years. The Cavaliers were crowned National Champions in 1989 and Kelderman closed out his career in the top-10 in both career points and assists in UVA's record books.

Kelderman has the United States Soccer Federation National `B' license, as well as a National Youth license.
