Golf Team Finishes in 14th Place at Argonaut Invitational

The George Mason golf team finished their first tournament of the spring season in 14th place at the Argonaut Invitational in Pensacola, Fla. The team did not move up or down after the final round played Tuesday morning at the par 72, 6,815 yard Pensacola Country Club.

Dan Hurley led the Patriots finishing 50th with a three round total (73-78-78=229). Nick DeSimone was tied with Hurly as Mason's leader, but carded a 88 on the final round to finish with a three-round 239 ((78-73-88). J.J. Amoruso had a rough time in the first two rounds, but shot even par 72 in the third and final round (84-82-72=238).Freshman Justin Wingo recorded a 239 (83-77-79) for the Patriots and Trey Bressler a 239 (83-78-78).

Fellow Colonial Athletic Association schools finished first and second with VCU edging out Old Dominion by two strokes.
