FAIRFAX, Va. - Sophomore Lamar Butler (Oxon Hill, MD/Oxon Hill), of the George Mason University men's basketball team, is expected to miss the Patriots next three games - Dec. 18 vs. McNeese State, Dec. 20 at Duquesne and Dec. 23 vs. St. Bonaventure - with an injury to his left foot.

A starter in each of Mason's first six games this season, the 6-2 shooting guard injured the foot four minutes into the Patriots contest at North Carolina, Dec. 7. - an injury he originally suffered in Mason's contest at Maryland, Nov. 25. An MRI Monday did not reveal any damage, but the foot was placed in a walking boot to help facilitate healing.

Butler is expected to miss four weeks of action, which began Dec. 7, and should return in early January. He was averaging 12.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the Patriots, and led the team in 3-point field goals with 18. The Oxon Hill native was shooting 47.4 percent from beyond the arc and 92.3 percent from the free throw line.
