In less than two months the 2009-2010 college basketball season will begin and Mason fans are surely excited to see the freshman class take the court. They're not the only ones. ESPN.com lists Mason's Johnny Williams as one of 10 freshmen they can't wait to see play in a story currently on their web site.

The story, which also includes players and teams to pay attention to, has a distinct Colonial Athletic Association flavor. Williams, a power forward from Memphis, Tenn., "has comfortable range from 15 to 17 feet and in, but can knock down an open 3 with time and space. However, he is best known for his ability to punish defenders in the lane, where he has good hands and touch around the basket. The versatile forward should produce points, rebounds and matchup problems right away" said the piece from Scouts Inc. The full story can be seen by clicking here.

Williams is one of six incoming freshmen. Along with redshirt Kevin Foster, they will comprise a talented group of seven players in their first year on the court for the Patriots.

Fran Fraschilla contributed to the piece with 10 Players to Keep An Eye On which included VCU's Larry Sanders. He also mentioned Old Dominion in the section titled Don't Sleep On These Teams. Andy Katz listed Northeastern as another Team to Watch. Katz also selected Old Dominion at Georgetown as a game the Selection Committee will be watching.
