
Thomas Invited to Wizards Mini-Camp

Former George Mason standout Will Thomas, a four-year letterwinner and a member of the 2006 Final Four Team has been invited to participate in a mini-camp to be held by the Washington Wizards in advance of the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA Sports. Thomas, who is among Mason's all-time leaders in numerous categories, is one of 15 players who will play in the mini-camp at Verizon Center. The Summer League, which will be played in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center and the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, will be played from July 11-20. The Wizards, one of 21 NBA teams participating in the league, will play five games with the first on July 14 against Portland at 8 p.m. EST. Thomas finished his career holding the school record for games played (131), games started (118), minutes played (4,144), consecutive games started (103) and field-goal percentage (.616). As a senior he was named first-team All-CAA and was Runner Up for Player of the Year. He was also selected to the CAA All-Defensive Team for the third straight year becoming just the fifth player in CAA history to be named to the All-Defensive Team three times. He was Runner Up for Defensive Player of the Year. He finished his career third all-time in the CAA in field-goal percentage and sixth all-time in the conference in rebounding. He is third all-time at Mason in rebounding with 993 boards. He became the seventh player in school history and first in 17 years to average a double-double when he finished the season with 16.1 ppg and 10.4 rpg. His 353 rebounds as a senior is the most in a single-season in school history and his .642 shooting percentage is the best single-season mark all-time at Mason. Joining Thomas on the Wizards' Summer League roster is fellow CAA player Frank Elegar of Drexel. Also from the area playing for the Wizards is Jonathan Wallace of Georgetown.
