Men's Basketball Concludes Road Trip at Towson on Wednesday

The George Mason men's basketball team will conclude its three-game road trip on Wednesday night as the Patriots travel to Towson to take on the Tigers in Colonial Athletic Association action. The game will be televised on MASN and tip time is 9 p.m.

The Patriots are 11-0 against Towson in CAA play and 23-8 all-time against the Tigers. Towson last beat Mason on January 6, 1993, a 78-71 win in Towson. Both teams, however, are coming off losses. Mason fell at Old Dominion on Saturday, 72-64, while Towson lost at Drexel, 65-51. The Tigers have dropped three straight while Mason has won seven of nine.

The Patriots (17-7, 9-4) have been led by Will Thomas who is attempting to become just the seventh player in school history to average a double-double on the season. He currently is averaging 16.1 points and 10.3 rebounds. Thomas entered this week eighth in the nation in field-goal percentage and 15th in rebounds per game. He leads the CAA in rebounding, is second in field-goal percentage and fifth in scoring. He is third all-time in CAA history in career field-goal percentage at 61.3

Over the past eight games, Folarin Campbell is averaging 21.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists while shooting 49 percent from 3-point range. The reigning CAA Co-Player of the Week is currently second on the team in scoring.

Towson (9-14, 5-8) has been led by Junior Hairston, who is averaging 12.5 points and 9.9 rebounds. He is shooting 46.6 percent from the field and he his 43 blocks. He is third in the CAA in rebounding, ninth in field-goal percentage and fourth in blocks.

As a team, Mason is top three in the CAA in scoring offense, scoring defense, field-goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage and rebounding margin. Towson is in the bottom half of the CAA standings in all of those categories.
