George Mason head coach Jim Larranaga has announced that sophomore guard Jimmy Nolan will not be returning to the team as he will seek a transfer with the hope of earning a scholarship to a Division II school.

"Jimmy Nolan joined our program last year and immediately became a crowd favorite," Larranaga said. "His hard work and dedication last season helped us get to the NIT. He is a terrific shooter, a real team player and a fun guy to be around. We are sorry to see him leave the program but wish him all the best in the future. He will always be considered a part of the George Mason Men's Basketball program."

Nolan played in one game this season, appearing in Mason's 60-44 win over Dartmouth. He played two minutes in that game missing his only shot, a 3-pointer. He scored a career-high five points in his collegiate debut, playing six minutes last year against Brown going 2 for 2 from the field with a 3-pointer, a rebound and an assist. He also scored three points with a rebound and two assists in 10 minutes against UNC Wilmington on Jan. 3, 2009. For his career he appeared in seven games with eight points, two rebounds and three assists.
