Debi Corbatto begins her sixth season as an Assistant Athletics Trainer at George Mason but she has a long history with Mason that stretches back more than 20 years. Corbatto first came to Mason as a student. She received a bachelor's degree from the university in the mid-80s. Corbatto returned to Mason several years ago to work on her master's degree, earning an M.S. in Exercise Fitness and Health Promotion in 2003. She worked as an athletic training intern at Mason while pursuing her degree and has been part of the Patriots' athletics department ever since. During the season, Corbatto is much more than an athletics trainer for the men's basketball team. She is a confidant for the players, a friend to the support staff and a critical ear for the coaching staff. Corbatto resides in Fairfax with her husband Fabrice Corbatto. She has two children, Matthew Nolan, 25, a professional musician who works at Mason as the Technical Director in the Computer Game Design Program, and Emily Nolan, 22, a recent graduate of UNC Wilmington who is pursuing a career in the business world. |
