Dan Jaycox got the start allow one earned run in three and one-third innings. Dan Gerjets allowed two earned runs in three and one-third innings and T.J. O'Grady got the win pitch the final third.
In the second game, Mason and VCU were tied at 2-2 when the Patriots broke the game open. Mason scored twice in the sixth and twice in the eighth to finish the sweep. Krieger was 2 for 4 with a solo homer, Justin Bour was 1 for 4 with a two-run homer and Mark Hill was 2 for 4 with two RBI.
