Spencer Wiggins enters his fourth year at Mason and he is expected to start in center field for the Patriots... A solid hitter with excellent speed and a terrific glove... Excellent at getting on base and a threat to steal every time.

2009: Played in all 56 games with 55 starts... Led the team in steals and walks and was third in runs and at-bats... Hit .284 with three homers and 63 runs scored... Had a .418 on-base percentage, fourth on the team... Walk and run totals were top 10 in a single season in school history... Had half of his career home run totals in the same game and tied a school record for hits in a contest, going 5 for 6 with two homers, three RBI and five runs scored against Liberty (4/8)... Started the season with three hits against USC Upstate (2/20)... Had a career-high three walks, scoring each time, against N.C. State (3/10)... Had two hits and two RBI against Lehigh (3/15)... Had two steals against Marist (3/17)... Went 3 for 4 with four runs scored against William & Mary (3/28)... Had three hits and three runs scored and made a game-ending diving catch against UNC Wilmington (4/5)... Had three of his eight extra-base hits in a CAA Tournament game against Old Dominion (5/21), going 3 for 6 with a homer, two doubles and five RBI... Finished career fourth all-time in CAA history in career sacrifices and is the school's all-time leader in that category... Is top 10 in school history in games started, at-bats, plate appearances, hit by pitch, stolen bases and runs scored... Also is 14th all-time in career hits and 27th all-time in career on-base percentage...H ad more walks in his career than strikeouts.

2008: Started 51 games for the Patriots, all in center field... Led the team in steals and sacrifices and was fifth in walks and runs... Batted .289 with five doubles, two triples, one home run, 24 RBI, 39 runs scored and 12 steals... Had 20 walks, eight sacrifices and was hit by 13 pitches... Had 15 multi-hit games... Was 2 for 5 with two RBI against College of Charleston on Feb. 24... Was 2 for 5 with a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs against Western Carolin on March 1... Had two steals on March 2 at Coastal Carolina and followed that up with two steals against George Washington on March 4... Was 3 for 5 with a steal and two runs on March 16 against Georgia State... Had a career-high five RBI and hit his first career home run on March 23 against Northeastern, a grand slam... Had a season-high three hits on March 25 against Maryland... Also had three hits against Radford on April 23, against Delaware on April 25, and against James Madison on May 23... From March 13 through April 25, a span of 26 games, hit .314 with 24 runs, six steals and a .407 on-base percentage... Among the school's all-time leaders in games started, at-bats, plate appearances, hits and steals... Is third all-time in school history having been hit by 38 pitches... Is on pace to break school record of 48.

2007: Started 40 games for the Patriots despite suffering a hand injury in the season's third game... Was second on the team in on-base percentage as well as steals... Had a .434 on-base percentage and stole 10 bases and also led the club by being hit by 12 pitches... Is sixth all-time at Mason in hit by pitches... Was hitting .160 on March 30 before going on a tear over the next 20 games, hitting .388 with a .484 on-base percentage and 8 steals over that span... Had three hits in a game four times, first against George Washington (April 10) going 3 for 4 with three RBI, then against James Madison (April 13) going 3 for 3, then against Towson (April 28) going 3 for 5 and finally against Temple (May 2) going 3 for 4 with four runs, two RBI and two hit by pitch.... Reached base safely in 14 of final 15 games... Did not make an error on the season.

2006: Appeared in 48 games, all starts for the Patriots... Started 25 games in centerfield and 23 in leftfield... Was tied for second on the team with 17 multi-hit games... Hit .287 with 54 hits and a .373 on-base percentage... Was 12 of 14 in stolen bases and committed just three errors on the year... Was 2 for 3 in first collegiate game against Arkansas... Was 3 for 4 with two RBI against Pittsburgh... Also was 3 for 5 with two runs and an RBI against Georgia State on May 5... Also had career-high two steals in that contest... Had a career-high four hits against Delaware on April 9.

PREP: Earned six letters while playing for the Rams, three in baseball, three in ice hockey... First-team All-Northern Virginia and first-team All-District as a senior as well as a member of the D.C. Examiner's first team... As a sophomore and junior, named first-team All-District... Second-team All-Northern Virginia as a junior... As a junior, set school's single-season record with 29 steals... Finished second at Robinson in career steals (52) and second in career batting average (.458).

PERSONAL: Full name is Spencer Cochran Wiggins... Born February 17, 1987... Parents are Brenda and Dave Wiggins... Has one sibling, Jordan... Father, Dave, was drafted out of high school by the Oakland Athletics and after a collegiate career at San Diego State and Oregon State, was drafted by the New York Mets... A 2005 graduate of Robinson High School... Also recruited by Radford... Major is information technology.
