2010: Named CAA Rookie of the Year, the first Mason player to ever earn that honor... Named second-team All-CAA as a relief pitcher and was also on the CAA All-Rookie Team... Set school records for fewest hits per nine innings, fewest walks per nine innings, lowest opponent's batting average and lowest single-season ERA (relievers)... Second lowest strikeout-to-walk ratio in school history... Put together a 3-1 record with four saves, a 1.17 ERA and a .194 opponent's batting average... Pitched 30 and two-third innings allowing 20 hits, four earned runs, three walks and 25 strikeouts... Allowed just two extra-base hits, a double and a triple... In 22 games as a hitter, batted .317 with a homer and 13 RBI, starting 14 games in the field, 11 at designated hitter and three at first base... First career appearance (2/18 vs. Northwestern) went 1 for 1 with two RBI a sacrifice fly and a run scored... Had career-high three hits against Northwestern (2/21)... Also had multiple RBI against Duquesne (3/19), George Washington (4/7) and Northeastern (4/18) with three RBI against the Huskies... Lone homer came in the George Washington contest... After allowing two earned runs in second appearance (2/27), held the opposition scoreless in 12 of next 13 outings, lowering ERA from 7.71 to 0.95... Had first career win came in 10-9 victory over George Washington (3/24)... First career save came against James Madison (3/27), going career-high three and two-third innings... Picked up second save in three innings of work against Maryland (4/6)... Earned the save against Longwood (4/13) and against Northeastern (4/16), matching career-high in innings pitched while setting a career-high for strikeouts with five... Earned a win at UNCW (4/3) and also got the victory against ODU (4/11)... Suffered a season-ending arm injury against Georgia State (5/1)... Held right-handed hitters to a .157 average, and the opposition hit .149 against him with runners on and just .103 with two outs... Had an 8.3 strikeout-to-walk ratio while striking out 7.34 batters per nine innings.

High School: Earned four letters in baseball and one basketball at Shawnee High School... Named All-Conference, All-County, All-South Jersey, All-State and Burlington County Player of the Year as a freshman... As a senior, was 13-3 with a 1.86 ERA and 130 strikeouts in 75 and one-third innings... Allowed just 33 walks and 48 hits... Hit .373 with five homers, five doubles, 20 RBI and a .614 slugging percentage... Only second player in school history to record 100 hits.

Personal: Parents are Jackie and Keith Montefusco... Born February 27, 1991... Has one brother, Nick... Cousin, Todd, played baseball at Mason... Cousin Tim played baseball at Fairleigh Dickinson while great uncle, Bill, played minor league baseball for the Detroit Tigers... Also recruited by UNC Wilmingotn, Penn State, Villanova, Radford, Elon and Monmouth.
