Darren McLean enters his second season at Mason and is expected to pitch out of the bullpen.

2007: Appeared in five games, all in relief... Pitched seven innings and was the only Mason pitched not to walk a batter on the year... Took the mound in the season opener allowing two hits and one run against then-No. 1 Clemson (Feb. 16)... Had a strong inning of work against Coppin State (March 6) with a strikeout and a hit... Allowed just one earned run in two innings of work at UNC Wilmington.

Prep: Earned three varsity letters in baseball at Goffstown High School... Also played a year of basketball... Was team captain as a senior and junior... Won the Coach's Award in 2006 and the team's Pitching Award in 2005... Was selected first-team All-State as a senior.
