Kevin Lingerman enters his third season with the Patriots and the second in the field and is a candidate for the starting rotation or in relief in the late innings.
2010: Did not compete, earning a medical redshirt.
2009: Took the mound nine times with four starts going 1-0 with a 7.06 ERA... Pitched 21 and two-third innings for the Patriots with 14 strikeouts and a .315 opponent's batting average... Had an excellent start to the season allowing just four earned runs in 18 and two-third innings for a 1.93 ERA... Made first start on March 10 at N.C. State allowing no earned runs in three and two-third innings... against UMass (3/16), allowed one earned run on five hits in six innings... Held Maryland to two earned runs in five and one-third innings on March 24... Was sidelined for a month due to injury and struggled upon his return... Had a season-high three strikeouts against N.C. State and on April 28 in relief against UMBC... Picked up first collegiate win in that relief appearance against the Retrievers... Did not allow a walk in final three appearances.
High School: Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Calvert Hall... As a senior, named All-Conference and All-Metro... As a junior, named Baltimore Sun Player of the Year, All-Conference and All-Metro... As a sophomore, named All-Conference... Had a 21-0 record in four-year career with nearly 20 saves... Batted better than .375 over his career.
