Dan Jaycox enters his final season on the field for George Mason and is expected to earn a spot in the starting rotation... Big, strong right-hander with good fastball, slider and a change-up... Very competitive player with outstanding potential ... Major is undeclared.

2007: Appeared in 12 games with 10 starts after overcoming an early-season injury... Led all starters in ERA and was second on the team in innings pitched and strikeouts... Was third on the team in wins and had one of Mason's two complete games... Combined on the season's lone shutout earning CAA Pitcher of the Week honors after allowing just one hit in six innings in a 2-0 seven-inning win over regular-season champion Old Dominion... Finished the season 3-2 with a 4.09 ERA and 49 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 61 and two-third innings... Struck out at least one batter in every appearance... Finished the season allowing two or fewer earned runs in final five starts... Was 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA over those five appearances with one complete game, one combined shutout and a .239 opponents' batting average.

2006: Pitched in 15 games and started eight contests after moving into the starting rotation midway through the season... Compiled a 3-4 record with a 6.39 ERA... Tied for second on the team in wins... Led the Patriots with 60 strikeouts... Was secodn on the club with 63 and one-third innings pitched... Walked just 17 batters on the season... Earned a relief win against George Washington on March 8... Took the win as a starter against Towson, allowing five runs in six innings... Had most dominant performance of the season against Delaware (April 9), allowing just one run on two hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts in seven innings, but took a no-decision... Got the win against Hofstra (April 30) allowing just three runs in eight innings.

2005: Redshirt

2004: Appeared in seven games for the Patriots and started once... One of three players to earn a save in 2004, pitching three shutout innings of relief in a 15-1 win at Towson... Allowed just one hit and walked none in that game, while striking out four batters... Did not allow a run in three of his six relief appearances... Lasted just two innings in his one start of the year, pitching against George Washington on May 18... Struck out a batter per inning, second on the team (minimum 10 innings).

Prep: Had solid four-year career at North Penn High School ... Posted 6-2 record with a 1.30 ERA on the mound as a senior, and also batted .420 with nine doubles ... Was 4-0 with five saves and did not allow an earned run as a junior with the Knights ... Helped lead American Legion team to Pennsylvania state championship in 2002 ... Twice selected to American Legion East-West All-Star Game and to Carpenter Cup team ... Twice played for Atlanta Braves team at East Coast Professional Showcase, joining current Patriot teammate J.J. Pannell in 2002.
