Dan Gerjets enters his final season with the Patriots and is expected to pitch on the weekends... Has excellent command and a good mix of pitches. 2009: Made nine starts and had a 3-2 record on the season... Allowed just eight walks in 40.1 innings of work... Opened the season with a win against UNC Asheville (2/21) allowing just one earned run on seven hits and no walks in seven innings... Had a season-high five strikeouts... Against Lehigh (3/15), allowed just one earned run and seven hits in six and one-third innings... Improved record to 3-1 with a win at Old Dominion, allowing three runs on seven hits in five and two-third innings... Suffered through injury in the second half of the season but finished strong with no earned runs allowed in four and two-third innings against UNC Wilmington in the CAA Tournament (5/22)... Had a 4.50 ERA in final six appearances with just three walks allowed... Is fourth all-time in school history in fewest walks allowed per nine innings (2.18)... Is seventh all-time in school history in winning percentage (.647) with an 11-6 career record. 2008: Named third-team All-CAA having pitched in 13 games with nine starts... Finished the season second on the team in wins, third in ERA, innings pitched and strikeouts... Was 6-3 on the season with a 5.03 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 68 innings... Led the team with two complete games... First win of the season came on March 1 over Western Carolina, going six innings in relief... Had first start of the season on March 15 against Georgia State, through a complete game with 10 hits, no walks, three strikeouts and one earned run... Improved to 3-0 after pitching five and one-third innings against Northeastern on March 23 with eight strkeouts... Gave up four runs to Towson in six innings on April 6, improving to 4-1. Went to 5-1 with win over Delaware, allowing two earned runs in eight and one-third innings... Had season-high nine strikeouts in that contest... Final win of the year came in a seven-inning complete game stint over William & Mary, allowing two runs on eight hits... From mid-March until late April, a span of seven appearances, went 4-1 with a 3.24 ERA, a .253 opponent's batting average and 39 hits in 28 strikeouts in 41.2 innings... Finished the year fifth all-time at Mason in fewest walks per nine innings and in the school's all-time top 20 in strikeout-to-walk ratio. 2007: Appeared in 17 games with five starts for the Patriots and was third on the team in ERA... Was 2-1 on the year with a 5.89 ERA and just eight walks in 44.1 innings pitched... Did not allow more than two earned runs in an appearance through first 15 games... Allowed 13 earned runs in final two appearances as ERA rose from 3.86 to 5.89... Had terrific relief outing on March 25 allowing just two runs, one earned in five and one-third innings... Picked up first collegiate win on April 13 with no runs in two-thirds of an inning in relief... Had best outing of the season against Chicago State allowing five hits, one walk and no earned runs in seven innings while striking out five... Allowed just one extra-base hit in that appearance, picking up his second win... Was 1-0 with a 4.44 ERA as a reliever holding opponents to a .295 batting average.
