Ryan Brecko enters his final season with the Patriots as one of the team's top relief pitchers... Has a good fastball and gets a lot of ground ball outs.

2009: Appeared in 25 games, second-most on the team, and finished the year tied for the team lead with six saves... Had a 2-1 record and pitched 39 and one-third innings... Allowed just 37 hits while striking out 34 and holding the opposition to a .252 batting average... In first 11 appearances, picked up six saves and a pair of wins... Pitched one and two-third innings in the season opener against USC Upstate (2/20)and picked up the save without allowing a hit... Two days later, picked up the save in a 7-6 win over SIU-Edwardsville(2/22)... Earned a save against Army (3/8) with a scoreless inning in an 8-6 victory... Picked up the win in an 11-4 win over N.C. State (3/10)... Got the final out in a 5-2 win over Lehigh (3/14) to earned fourth save of the year... Two days later, went two innings allowing just one hit to go to 2-0 with a 3-1 win over UMass (3/16)... Pitched a scoreless inning against Old Dominion to grab a save in a 4-2 win over Old Dominion... Held Maryland (3/24) off the board in a 6-5 victory to grab save No. 6... Had four strikeouts in four innings against Maryland (4/22)... Had a streak of 14 and two-third scoreless innings stretching over seven appearances to lower ERA from 5.06 to 3.18... Enters final season fifth all-time in school history in career appearances (62), fourth in career saves (8), fifth in career winning percentage (.684), 12th in lowest opponents batting average (.281) and 15th in career victories (13).

2008: Was named second-team ABCA All-East Region and third-team All-CAA after leading the conference in opponent's batting average... Appeared in 20 games for Mason with 15 of those appearances coming in relief... Allowed the opposition to hit .237, the eighth-best single-season mark in school history... Led the team in ERA, with a 3.94 ERA, wins, with a 7-2 record, and saves, with four... Was fifth on the team in innings pitched... Allowed just five home runs on the year and just 11 extra-base hits in 61.2 innings... allowed just 7.88 hits per nine innings, the 14th-best single-season mark in school history... As a reliever, was 5-2 with four saves and a 3.16 ERA... Had a hand in more than one-third of Mason's victories... Started games against College of Charleston, Western Carolina, Longwood, Georgia State and Maryland... Earned wins over Longwood and Georgia State... 2007: Finished the season with 17 appearances of which seven were starts... Compiled a 4-3 record with a 7.43 ERA... Pitched 49.2 innings allowing 41 earned runs with 27 walks and 19 strikeouts... Opened the season in the weekend rotation with a strong outing against Clemson... Lacked defensive support in second start at College of Charleston... Moved out of starting rotation after a no-decision against William & Mary... Was back in the starting rotation on March 28 and picked up a win on April 3 against Georgetown... Also picked up the win in a home start against George Washington... Won third straight decision with a victory against Chicago State, throwing seven shutout innings... Earned a relief victory against Towson on April 27 but took the loss two days later against the Tigers... Hit .200 on the season with three starts in rightfield.

Prep: Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Seneca High School playing for coach Dave Lafferty... Was selected All-State and All-South Jersey as both a senior and a junior...Had a .495 batting average with six home runs and a 6-2 record as a senior... As a junior, was 7-1 and hit .420 with 10 home runs.
