EARLYSVILLE, Va. - Two members of George Mason's men's and women's cross country teams earned a pair of top-five finishes at the Lou Onesty Invitational at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. on Saturday morning. Sophomore Everett Hackett finished in third place for the men's team, while freshman Rochelle Sceats finished in fifth place for the women's team.

Hackett crossed the finish line third with a time of 25:10.50 on the 8k course. The top two finishers in the race were Emil Heineking of Virginia (24:04.80) and Philemon Kimutal of Norfolk State (25:00.10). Mason's duo of Daniel Nafziger and Sam Horn finished in 15th and 16th place, respectively, with times of 25:54.90 and 26:18.80.

Sceats ran to a fifth-place finish with a time of 18:46.90 on the 5k course. Sandy Castro was the next Patriot to cross the finish line, running to a 13th-place finish with a time of 19:43.40. Samantha Fickel finished 16th with a time of 20:01.50.

In the women's team scoring, the Patriots finished third with a total of 68 points. The men's team finished in fourth place with 67 points.

Up next for the Patriots is the Mason Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Bull Run Park in Centreville, Va.
