Samyr Laine returns to the George Mason University track and field coaching staff for his third season in 2010. Laine is a 2006 graduate of Harvard University, where he was a standout track and field athlete. Laine is a current member of the Haitian National track and field team. He finished 10th at the 2007 Pan Am Games in the triple jump and is the current national record holder in the event. In college, Laine earned NCAA All-American honors and was a four-time Ivy League champion, twice indoors and twice outdoors. Laine earned Northeast Regional Field Athlete of the Year honors during the 2006 indoor season. He attended the University of Texas for graduate school, earning a degree in Kinesiology-Sport Management in 2007. He is a current Georgetown Law Student, expected to receive his J.D. in 2010. |
