Patriot Invitational Central

Fairfax, Va. After one day of competition at the 2010 Patriot Invitational, the George Mason swimming and diving team rank third on both the men's and women's sides. With one day of action at the Jim McKay Natatorium in the books, the Patriot women have 184 points while the men have 176. UMBC leads the women's side with 330 points and UNCW leads the men with 293.

On the women's side Ashley Danner claimed a victory in the both of the events she competed in. She finished first in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 23.24 and was also part of the 400-yard Medley Relay that won the race. They finished in a time of 3:47.79 and the team also included Paige Impink, Lindsay Pierce, and Jenny Kane.

On the men's side Bryan Bahr claimed a first place victory in the 1-meter dive with a score of 314.30, beating his preliminary score of 305.90.

The Patriot Invitational continues through the weekend, with Saturday's sessions scheduled for 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
