PERTINENT NCAA RULES
This is a reminder of the NCAA academic eligibility rules. They must be adhered to without exception. Please be advised that it is incumbent upon you to be aware of these regulations and ensure that you do what is necessary to comply with them.
- You must choose a major that leads toward a specific baccalaureate degree by the beginning of your third year of enrollment. This includes transfer students who have not yet completed an academic year in residence or utilized one season of eligibility in a sport.
- If you are entering your third year of collegiate enrollment, you must have completed successfully at least 25 percent of the course requirements in your specific degree program, and you must present a cumulative minimum grade-point average of 1.800 that equals at least 90 percent of the cumulative minimum grade-point average required for graduation.
- If you are entering your fourth year of collegiate enrollment, you must have completed successfully at least 50 percent of the course requirements in your specific degree program, and you must present a cumulative minimum grade-point average of 1.900 that equals 95 percent of the cumulative minimum grade-point average required for graduation.
- If you are entering your fifth year of collegiate enrollment, you must have completed successfully at least 75 percent of the course requirements in your specific degree program, and you must present a cumulative minimum grade-point average of 1.900 that equals 95 percent of the cumulative minimum grade-point average required for graduation.
- You must earn at least 75 percent of the semester hours required for satisfactory progress during the regular academic year, and you may not earn more than 25 percent of the semester hours required for satisfactory progress during the summer. This means that you must earn at least 18 semester hours during the Fall and Spring semesters and only 6 semester hours in the Summer semester, in meeting the 24 hour satisfactory progress rule.
