REMINDERS 1. Every student needs 45 hours of upper-level course (300-400) to graduate. Think twice before registering for a 100 level elective! 2. Your grade in English 302 must be a "C" or above. 3. It is important to check to see if any of your courses require a prerequisite. (For example: A "C" in Math 108 is required before you may enroll in DESC 210.) 4. To be a full-time student and maintain athletic eligibility, you must enroll in 12-17 graded semester hours (audits are not included). Anyone taking 18 hours or more must obtain PERMISSION FROM THE DEAN of the appropriate college, to overload his/her schedule. Remember: If you receive a tuition scholarship, any enrollment over 17 hours must be approved by the Senior Associate Athletic Director. 5. It is your responsibility to take a placement test and obtain its results before initial enrollment in a foreign language course, if you have studied the language for at least two years in high school, have no previous college credit in the language, and wish to continue in the same language here at GMU. Transfer students receiving credit for college-level foreign language study completed at other colleges do not usually need a placement test. They must, however, consult the Department of Modern and Classical Languages to determine their correct placement. The tests are administered in the Language Laboratory located in Thompson Hall, Room 227. Tests are given Mondays & Wednesdays from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm and Fridays from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. For more information, you may call them at x 3-1244 or visit their website at: http://www.gmu.edu/departments/fld/LAB/test.html. 6. To register for any Math course, students must have taken the GMU Math Placement Exam. This exam covers material from high school algebra and trigonometry. The Math Placement Exam is computerized so there is no need to bring any materials with you.
For a listing of the testing dates/times/location, please visit their website at: Please call the Math Department at x3-1460 with any questions regarding the Math Placement Exam. 7. Be aware that some courses are offered only in the Fall or Spring semesters. Plan your major course work accordingly. 8. Please note: Student-athletes must turn in approved registration forms early to guarantee priority registration. Telephone registration for all students begins on April 18th.
